Educate me here nerds, I'm aware of "Windows XP Home" and "Windows XP Premium" but is there a "Windows XP Parents" edition that lacks the control panel, start button and programs folder?

no, but you can cripple XP nicely with permssions and policies. there should be how-tos on the web.

Nine times out of ten the problem is getting ON the web in the first place and it took fifteen minutes to get from the "start" button to "network connections" and even that was only due to being able to open the control panel by typing "control panel" in the run box.

Dante didn't look around enough, there was at least one circle of hell dedicated to parental tech support.

Is your son already trying to access the Anarchist's Cookbook or something?

That kid is a prodigy if you need to install a parent's edition already.
