The new Dr Who

Look, we all got terribly excited when Catherine Tate was announced as the companion and David Tennant was seen as a strange choice at the time and Billy Piper raised more than a few eyebrows and snarky comments. Christopher Eccleston, I'll grant you did not raise much comment but that decision predates the mass appearance of armchair casting directors all across England and Ireland.
So what I'm proposing is this - Even though Davies is absolutely woeful at writing exit routes that are not divine cogs plucked directly from the machina, he and the other members of the team have never failed the fans of the show with bad casting decisions (at least not long term ones).

So settle down.
