This Christmas was the first one I've ever had a wife and child for so in a break from the norm, followthebird, mini-me and I went to her parents' place for the big day. I made the stuffing (2 lb of sausage meat, half a loaf of bread ground into crumbs, two onions, two apples, two bags of paxo and water and random herbs and spices chosen on how christmassey they smelled - feeds eight people for three days) and in spite of our decision that since Elijah doesn't know what the hell Santa is he would not be visiting this year I ended up carting a large box of wooden blocks across the city in the bitter, arsing cold.
He was also given the gift that keeps on giving, a teddy bear that plays christmas songs on loop for about two minutes per press of the paw. He'll get that one back once surgery is performed on it.
Then it was home for an evening or two before heading out to my home place for more holiday spirit. I was enjoying a relaxing glass of guinness (because it is good for you) when he decided that
Back home he got even more presents, more teddy bears and a tigger activity thing which seems to have become the absolute number one toy of all time. We got the best gift of all though, we finally discovered what it takes to tire him out and ensure a good, solid night's sleep for him. Approximately sixteen uninterrupted hours of playtime with various aunts, uncles and grandparents.
