Since I'm doing catchup on my posts, I went back to the gym this evening after a couple of weeks off (what with various things taking up my time) and decided to focus on the exercises I'd been shown to improve my "core strength" which I guess involves the muscles in the middle of you, supposedly it improves your balance and dramatically increases your overall strength (and at the rate the kid is increasing in size and weight, should soon be useful). In short, it involves situps, but special situps where you lie in the usual knees up position, press your chin to your chest and raise your shoulders up a few inches, hold and release. I did that for a little while, doing maybe twenty or twenty five of them before I felt it was getting too sore, tried to sit up and had a contraction.
