Is it the beginning of a slippery slide into middle age now that I can no longer be bothered to learn about relatively modern things like bebo and myspace? I got a message saying someone wanted to confirm how they knew me and before I knew it it was asking me about people who had added me months ago and sending them requests to confirm the story *I* was apparantly telling. Sod that.

I know exactly the same feeling....

I don't get the worrying bit of this at all. How much did you relate to the stuff your parents were doing when you were a kid? We are at the age when people of our generation are having kids and our parents generation would likely have had most of their family already.

If I cared, I would worry about Bebo/Myspace collecting so much data on people and inviting other people to corroborate your data! WTF?? A worry best left til when I have kids of my own I think :)

Personally I think its because I feel like I should know about this kind of thing, that I'm still young enough to have a clue what the hell is going on.

You're always young enough to have a clue. You just don't care about this stuff at the moment. You will again, when you are living, what life they let you have, vicariously through your kids :)

Me too - I've suspended my facebook account because doing anything with it requires understanding how the whole damned system works, it's ten times more complicated than Livejournal and seems ridiculously proscriptive in what you can and can't do with it.
