Everywhere else gets work-impeding snow. Dublin gets temperatures low enough that you could see my nipples through a tee-shirt, jumper and leather coat combo but it still bloody rains. My coffee went cold in five minutes through contact with the air and I couldn't move the fingers holding it but is there so much as a snowflake to indicate an oncoming winter wonderland? Is there bollocks.

This is localised to you. I've got snow. Snow!

Brid called me this morning too to tell me there was snow as well, everywhere except donnybrook, the route from donnybrook to baggot st and the route from baggot st to pearse st seems to be snowed on. I bet if I'd waited another stop we would have gotten stuck in a drift.

There's something resembling snow falling in Carrickmacross, but it evaporates the second it hits the wet ground. Maybe it's coming your way?

I demand punctuality from my snow. None of this crawling in at half twelve and hoping no one notices! It has to be impeding my ability to get TO work, not home from it!

I know! Imagine my disappointment! I overnighted in Phibsboro especially, and the motorway up was totally clear! I was so looking forward for an excuse to stay in bed. Sheesh. And to add insult to injury, I spent €110 on new tyres yesterday to cope with the "snow" and I might as well not have bothered!

See now, if you hadn't gotten the tyres, sods law would not have come into effect and we'd all be arse deep in snow by now.

This is true, however if I hadn't got the tyres and we *were* arse deep in snow, I'd be in a ditch somewhere in deepest Monaghan trying to extricate myself from a car wreck. Those tyres were due, man!

I agree. I was rather hoping to be able to stay at home today (snowed in) and get something fun done!

Yep, a day spent playing WoW or working on the next digital art dealie would have been VERY welcome (following a lie in until noon) but noooooo. I bet it snows all weekend and then melts on sunday night.

It's not allowed to come at the weekend. I have stuff to get done damnit.

Whatever about things to do (I have some myself this weekend) snow days on weekends and bank holidays are a complete waste. They should be like being sick on a public holiday and entitle you to another day off.

If being sick on holidays entitles one to days off in lieu, I demand my xmas week back...and I've probably gotten another couple of weeks coming to be too (I have the best luck in getting sick. Really).

Having witnessed Dublin bay become obscurred by snow fall from my office window, and though light, the show fall is not abating, I'm starting to become concerned about the weekend...

Sounds like the ground is the problem. This must be worked on.

Rain and cold in Drogheda, but if it's that cold up in civilisation I think I'm still sick and am climbing back into bed. Not going up to James' if it's that cold just to collect a DVD that is "ONLY available for collection between 2 and 4", (because DVDs are famous for their vanishing into little wisps of smoke) not on my study/duvet day at least.
Sod that. Back to bed!

That seems like the logical plan, at least unless your ultimate goal is to kill a binge drinking's worth of brain cells the first time the breeze crosses your forehead.

Bother. House has now run out of water and smokes. I think it's time to leave to get more of each. Sarah without coffee might not be fun. Sarah without smokes is surprisingly a lot more amenable.

Nothing but freezing rain in Coolock and Malahide, too. Bah Humbug.

It was snowing in town at lunchtime. It wasn't sticking though and it had stopped by about 2:30. Some half-arsed effort, that was.

Greetings fellow wombat! Our mutual friend puritybrown mentioned your username, because I have suddenly changed mine. I didn't realise there is a giant brother-/sisterhood of wombats in existence. That's amazing. Perhaps we can invent a secret handshake. Or decide on a favourite biscuit, or something.
