Daz Studio are giving away Bryce 5.0 for free. Version 5.5 is the latest and still costs money but theres no real difference between the two, certainly not that I've seen or used anyway. It is an excellent piece of software for making terrain or nature scenes.

They have an interesting business model. It seems to involve giving away a lot of stuff. I wish more companies would do it. Daz Studio (character creation and animation) is still free, as are Michael 3.0 and Victoria 3.0 - the two main characters in the set. Buying any issue of a 3D magazine should provide you with additional free material, as should visiting the Daz freebies, the Bryce freebies, the renderosity Poser freebies or the Renderosity Daz Studio freebies or any one of a hundred other freebie sites out there.

Anyway, Nazis on a train and Pantera publicist Eviscerates E!

This makes me scream inside. God, the idea of the film gives me the horrors as it is :)

You'd think that it would occur to the 'prankster' to use NON-DANGEROUS snakes. Oh wait, I forgot, we're talking about someone who thought it would be funny to release LIVE SNAKES into a cinema. Forget I said anything.

I don't know snakes, but I do know that something with a frigging RATTLE is to be avoided. Darwin failed us on this one, if he'd been paying attention they never would have gotten to the cinema on account of being dead in the desert with massively swollen limbs.

So Bryce 5.0 doesn't work on Mac OS 10.4, making it kind of match Daz Studio (which won't run under Rosetta) in my inability to use it. Fate wishes to keep me from the third dimension.

How do you figure? the download.com page says it works in 8.x, 9.x and X... isn't 10.4 also X? I don't even know what the hell version I have on my max, let alone how to actually find out.

Click on the Apple and click About This Mac.

The webpage you yourself linked to with your very weblog says
"NOTE: Bryce 5.0 does not run under Mac OS X Tiger (Mac OS 10.4 and above)."
