Y'know, none of you (well, one of you) have any idea how hard it is to get five kilos of Jelly Belly jellybeans delivered to this country. Even their english shop doesn't deliver to the republic of ireland. The isle of sicily is fine, the republic of Ireland is not.

Oh yeah, that's the fun, lets also talk about Bizarre Magazine sending me it (back before it got too T&A and not enough wierd even for me) regularly ONE MONTH LATE, past the date for most of the competitions. For a while their excuse was that perhaps it wasn't getting into my postbox, until I pointed out that my postbox at the time was a SHOP, that had accepted delivery of a IIRC 13 cft FRIDGE/FREEZER. Subscription Magazines that send out freebies (many of them fairly small) to the UK and northern Ireland and not to the south... I'll stop now before the frothing gets disturbing to my workmates.

Yeah, I used to like Bizzare but the last year or so has had nothing but porn stars on the cover and while that doesn't make me uncomfortable enough not to buy them it sort of reflects the change in content. I honestly don't need to read another expose on the latest gangbang world record attempt.

Most of the magazines I read (3D World, ImagineFX, Digital Creative Arts) all now state in their subscription information that subscriptions will be delivered a month or so after their release in the retail outlets. This baffles me.

That is truly bizarre. My knitting magazines appear about 2 weeks after publication for the US one (very acceptable in my book) or about 1 week after for the UK ones, which reminds me... I have due subs

I figure, sod 'em, I just get them as they come out in Easons. It isn't like they're exactly hot titles (though ImagineFX is bloody brilliant and anyone with artistic aspirations needs to read it)

Oh, I used to get the Architectural Review and that would always arrive a month late. Which was an annoyance, because I only really subscribed to it for the design competitions and job ads. When I pulled them up about it, I was told that a slight delay was inevitable for overseas susbscriptions....

Well actually the freebies not being included is generally to do with legal/copyright reasons. The North being part of the UK and all, their covered by the same terms, so they can send there.

It's nothing to do with nationality or geography.
