Its crap, but is it art?

My initial experiments with "The Movies" - the Movie studio management game cum custom built machinima engine - can safely be declared a highly surreal failure. It started out well - a lady cavalry soldier attempts a bank robbery before being thwarted by a bloke in a bowler hat (or perhaps the other way around, I'm not sure) but swiftly changes to a conversation with another woman as they walk across the surface of an alien planet, inexplicably clad in her new daisy dukes before we see her stabbing an alien to death in the corridor of a spaceship. This would make more sense if I hadn't thought it was going to involve a barfight, rooftop chase and finally a confrontation in the alleyways below.

Inspiration for the illustrations for the next White Elephant are simply not happening for me at the moment for some reason - I have one down but I'm not a big fan of the image. I think I'm going to buy myself a sketchpad and pen and hide away in a coffee shop for a few hours tonight instead of going home and getting distracted by Warcraft or the like. I'm in a manga mood though, I might wander around forbidden planet a bit too.

That's too bad about The Movies... I was thinking hard about getting it. Sounds like it's weak, then, eh?

I suspect its quite powerful and I'm the weak one.

That being said, unless I'm being a complete and total idiot there are some limitations from the get go. The main one is that in order to get access to all the sets, props and costumes (excluding hidden easter egg things) you have to start a new sandbox game, give yourself max funds and all the options you can put together, set a bunch of scientists to research and set the game to fast forward for fifty years (the game begins in 1950 at the latest).

You also seem to be limited to the scripted sequences the game has laid out, you can't build your own, but there are TONNES of them so that doesn't matter too much I think. My main gripe is that for a game that begins in the 30s-50s, there are NO giant ants whatsoever.
