Righto, since its a good three weeks until the next episode of Lost season 2 is out and Gaelcon is this weekend I figure this is as good a time as any for me to do this. I will be at Gaelcon this weekend, probably only on the saturday. I don't generally play games at the thing [1] and I always kid myself I'll go for the entire weekend and end up being a bit bored and feeling a bit daft for going and not playing games. So, on saturday I shall be wandering around, checking out the trade stands and seeing the people I don't see except at Gaelcon every year.

If you would like to get your hands on Lost, season two, episodes 1-5 on a DVD, let me know now and I'll burn them and give it to you on saturday

If you have a bit of artwork you want done for some reason, grab me while I'm there and push a sketch or a description in my face. I'll be reinstalling all my 3D stuff over the next couple of days [2] and getting started on that again

Also, pick up the new White Elephant that should be out that day as it will contain yet more of my amazing [3] artwork

If you don't know what I look like by now, here are some illustrated aids

Me - on the right. Thats my mum on the left. Thats Killikeen Forest park in the background

Since I'm posting pictures, thats more of Killikeen Forest Park there

Thats a donkey

[1] Convention scenarios just don't push my buttons. Nothing against them, some of them are great just not my thing.
[2] Forty gigs of files takes quite a while to scan for viruses and reinstall, just for future reference.
[3] Probably not all that great.

Its a perfectly serious offer, and smaller projects like that are a definite preference because they don't make my CPU melt in protest. Thats an eminently doable pic, even the fur shouldn't be too much hassle in theory (I've never tried it so it should be interesting).
I have a fairly huge selection of models and textures, especially now that Daz3d seem to have lost their minds and given me about 500 quids worth of (surprisingly) useful stuff for next to nothing. Cats eyes and pointy ears are dead easy.

I'll chuck something together tomorrow since it looks like I'm at a loose end and see how it goes.

If you haven't got Furraldo, get the to the Free Stuff forum thingie on Daz 3d post-haste.

I've not yelled at you about furries yet obviously :)

I was going to go with either using the hair room in poser OR reworking the cat people texture set from the platinum club on daz and then using some of the smudge or distortion tools in photoshop to finish the job since displacement maps aren't worth a damn yet for some reason. I'm fairly sure I have something that'll do the job without going too far down the anthro route anyway.

Actually that reminds me, as regards your comment on displacement maps, although I haven't really used them myself I liked the weird-back-thing example in this thread.

No bother at all, its good to have a challenge from time to time (a doable challenge that is) because I tend to be lazy with the White Elephant stuff. Partly by necessity because backgrounds wouldn't work so well and partly out of more traditional reasons for laziness.

Actually come to think of it, that badge I was talking about before would be nice, if you're at a loose end. As seen at:

I go pretty much every year, if only for an afternoon. I like the atmosphere for a few hours, until it gets a bit wiffy.

No problem at all. My burner is acting the bollocks at the moment so it'll be a day or two (I guess) to sort it out, hence my asking a week in advance.

Your artwork in the PDF of the new Wele looks bloody good - haven't seen a printed copy yet, though.

I tell ya, getting to see it in print makes it all worthwhile. More than makes up for the lack of groupies.

I asked ages ago but haven't actually been able to ask properly again at such time as it might be possible to actually meet you to get them. I'd much appreciate them, please.

What software am I likely to need on my PC to watch them, do you know? I downloaded the first half of season one way at the beginning, which were .avis I think, but hadn't the faintest clue then how to make them work. Everyone said I should have a suitable player on the computer automatically, but if I did I didn't know where to find it.

Yes, I am that useless with computers. Mine's still massively infected with Spyware because I don't understand how to clear it and Fergal hasn't had a chance to make good on his offer to come over and teach me/do it for me :)

You'll want the DivX codec/decoder thing, which I will burn onto the DVD as well. I'll put AdAware on it too, that should solve the worst of your spyware problems.
If its still acting the gimp then you could drop it over to my place. I'm doing nothing (to my knowledge) on thursday after lunch or all day friday - should be time enough to take a peek at it.
