Wow, holy shit that was weird and awful and stuff...
Should have given them soldiers some happy cakes.

Judging from the article, that's the kind of thing would get you shot.

What worries me is that it's entitled "Fascist comes to the US" or similar. From the point of view of many people over here it's already there...

I think the twist here is that this (as is repeatedly pointed out, though obviously I take it with a grain of salt) was a 100% legal event well out of the way and there was no provocation for the army to storm the place unlike say when the "facists" break up a protest in built up areas of the city (where there is at least the *potential* for large scale trouble).

The sad thing is that this is nothing new but no one with the power cares enough to call them to task over it and the majority of the public simply doesn't give a damn or swallows the party line (or better still, leaps to the cynical conclusion that the ravers were "up" to something that deserved the response).

I reckon so, I should be home from half six at the latest.

And also, since you missed my post, what type of spice flavouring do you like on your crumble?

Cinnamon seems traditional? I seem to recall my mum using it a lot anyway. Possibly nutmeg... probably cinnamon though.

Also.. can you remind me what buses to get out again?
Tue, Aug. 30th, 2005 02:59 pm (UTC)
10, or 10A (from near the clerys) OR the more regular 46A, 46B, 46C from outside the savoy and westmoreland st. Get off at Donnybrook Church (Sacred Heart) and you're pretty much there once you find Beaver Row down by the bus depot.

Just plain scary :-S. Maybe it's because I studied law, but I find the whole story rather terrifiying (Policemen tearing apart the permits? Pursuing people with cameras?). I just hope this is only happening in Utah...

See it wouldn't matter where and how often it happened because everyone "knows" that "obviously" there was a good reason for the place to be stormed. I'm not blindly accepting the facts as they have been presented but I definitely don't buy into the idea that anything they could have been up to justified that kind of response.
