It went a little something like this:
To whom it may concern.
I would like to register my disgust and contempt for the individuals listed below from your party who failed to vote after the recent debate on the continued use of Shannon airport by the United States of America.
Breen, Pat
Bruton, John
Deasy, John
Mitchell, Olivia
Neville, Dan
Noonan, Michael
Perry, John
Timmins, Billy
I find it very hard to believe that they are adequately representing the wishes of their constituents by not voting and I sincerely hope that they can find it in themselves to have the courage of their convictions in future.
I would also like to ask the following:
Why did Mr Enda Kenny feel that Fine Gael members could be excused from voting in one of the most important debates on foreign policy in decades.
Why does Mr Kenny himself supported the continued use of Shannon airport in the event of a second United Nations security council resolution despite the blatant vote buying on the part of the US.
In light of the fact that the US and UK are waging an unsanctioned war against Iraq, do Fine Gael have any plans to prevent the use of Shannon airport by aggressive nations in future?
Yours truly
