My brother gave me a lift down home on thursday night and we arrived down in double quick time with no problems at all. Wrapped the last few presents on christmas eve, woke up on christmas day to see the entire countryside blanketed in snow. Helped make the dinner, ate the dinner, opened the presents (bottle of Powers whiskey, a cuban cigar, some tee shirts and tops, a bottle of baileys, a toblerone, money and a pratchett book) and played loads of Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas (by which I mean got a bike and drove it off cliffs at high speed). Went to a friends' place for chocolate fondue and a bit of a laugh and went to bed.
Woke up this morning to find all of the snow gone and the roads back in perfect condition, had more dinner, sorted out a load of books for my dad, taught him how to use Firefox, on line shopping and ebay, tried fixing a neighbour's computer (not much joy there but it was running ME so I feel okay about failing), got the bus back, arrived well ahead of schedule, got a taxi immediately and arrived back here around 10.
Now if only every day went as smoothly.
Thanks to gothwalk and sabayone for feeding the dudes in my absence. They seemed relatively free of anger when I got back :)
