(no subject)

I got my nosetube out today. I went into the eye and ear hospital, waited around for a while, got an eye test and Dr/Mr Moriarty sat me down, did some more checks on the eye itself and then proceeded to take out the tube.
Now, some of you may recall that the tube went from my lower tear duct into the nasal cavity, so it seemed logical to me that he would stick some tweezers up my nose, grab the tube and yank it out. Unfortunately I am not a surgeon so I was relatively ignorant of the truth of the matter but it quickly became apparant when he got his tweezers, pushed my eye to one side and shoved them into the corner of the eye socket, wiggled them around for a second and pulled out two inches of what looked like thick fishing line. He is of course a professional so he did it quickly enough that I didn't have time to scream and punch him in the balls - it all happened in about two seconds.
So thats that for a while, six weeks to be precise, when I go back in august for a checkup if the infection hasn't cleared entirely I'll have to go back under the knife and get a permanent tube put in place made out of glass which will involve cleaning it twice daily for the rest of my life by snorting lightly salted water up my nose twice-daily and probably another three weeks of sitting around and not looking at anything.
