Service with silence

Today I am mostly being a luddite. After ten minutes of fiddling with our DSL modem and trying to persuade it that, yes, there *is* a phone line plugged into it, and as such maybe some of the lights on it should perhaps glimmer a bit, I still had no luck and gave it up as a bad job. Eircom support CLAIMS that this is because the line is not yet activated but that smells a bit of getting rid of me for a few days.

Anyway, all I can think of now is prayer and kickings. I can't much be bothered trying to troubleshoot it myself and this once I'm going to use patience, temperance and let people who get paid for this sort of thing sort it the hell out. Of course, since eircom support aren't actually *answering their God Damned phones* it is made more tricky.
