Keeping up to date

I abandoned work at five sharp on friday to get the train to cork, which as usual was enjoyably packed to the gills. It wasn't exactly ideal circumstances for writing so I sort of gave up on the idea not far into the journey. metalrabbit picked me up in mallow and we had a nice drive back to blarney interrupted only by a beautiful meal in the local thai resteraunt (one of the major reasons I support an open immigration policy is the influx of new foods and tastes that inevitably follows. It was a pleasant surprise to find a thai resteraunt in the middle of the countryside staffed by a thai couple. Up until then I would have safely expected the menu to consist of various curries poured over chips and served by an angry irish teenager)

We went into cork on Saturday, I went along to the grand opening of Other Realms' new premises. It's nice, a bit oranger and blacker than I would have liked but it's open, bright, well ventilated and all the stock is laid out clearly. Naturally I hated it. Don't get me wrong, if I were managing the place I would have done exactly the same, I just like my gaming stores to be like my pubs - low ceilings, a little dark and unfriendly enough that people don't try to talk to me.

Some major relaxing was done before I made the trip back to Dublin. Once again the train was stuffed to the gills, but since it's the cork line I'll refrain from even mentioning that again. Just assume it was packed and you'll be right most of the time.

So, back in dublin cartographer and nonhae arrived back at the flat. We had a drink and some food before I went to bed where I lay awake until 5AM variously fretting about the future, the meaning of life, dying without leaving a legacy, considering quitting work to get out of a meeting tomorrow, quitting work to preserve my sanity (just look, 6:20 and still here again). Woke up at half past ten, wandered into work.
