I had the meeting with my boss and the HR person yesterday. I didn't get the job, much as I expected but they've still not filled the position - they're looking for someone more qualified and experienced than they initially thought they might be needing. I shouldn't be surprised, every time a new position opens they determine what they need (a team lead in this case) and after interviewing 20 candidates they decide they need something different and none of the candidates would be suitable for this new requirement (a manager, since ours is off on maternity leave soon so we keed someone who can handle her stuff too for a while) and invariably end up hiring no one. I'm not really bothered either way but it has raised the point that I'm going to hit the wage limit for my job long before I get the chance to go up in the world. So if I am to pursue my first professional love (money) I may have to look elsewhere in the next year or so.
Myself and cartographer signed the lease for the new place last night and we're starting the whole moving process this weekend (maybe tonight or tomorrow but I'm tired and sick at the moment so it doesn't sound like my cup of tea. Like her, I too have some crap I want to give away, I'm just not sure what it is yet.
