There's been a script of an episode of this kid's TV show that was supposedly filled with innuendo about how the kids should play with their balls and "twangers" for quite some time now. It goes something like this:
(zippy and george are puppets, bungle is a man in a bear suit and geoffrey is their human friend)

The sketch opens with Zippy peeling a banana...
Zippy: "One skin, two skin, three skin, four"
George: "Zippy, where is Bungle?"
Zippy: "I think Geoffrey is trying to get him up"

If it's all a fake then they did a good job of it.

Funnily, I don't remember finding it that funny when I was a kid...

I'm going to take a wild guess and assume that not all the episodes were like that.

Oddly enough, it seems more like one of the more modern shitty BBC comedies that have been coming out lately. That "gimme gimme gimme" thing* (*abortion of nature) springs to mind.

No they really weren't all like that :-) They just made that one for fun. I think I saw some of it on one of those hundred best tv things ever programmes, but I might just have read about it so many times that I think I saw it. That happens sometimes.

Likewise - I thought I'd seen it when I read the script for about the tenth time but upon watching the video I realised that I hadn't.

For starters I only remember Rod, Jane and Freddy as the singers, and they were different people (and a damned sight more clean cut than the ones in the video) to what I remembered.
